A day in the office with…Jodie Hanrahan, Senior Media Strategist

11 March 2022

Jodie Hanrahan

Jodie started at Join the Dots back in 2016 (when we were Response One) and has been a passionate (and chatty!) team member ever since. Jodie has worked across clients including Legal & General, Sky, Mencap and most recently manages all the RSPCA campaigns, so is always on hand to offer great advice across the finance, telecoms and charity sectors. Here Jodie shares what a ‘typical’ day in the office looks like for her…

Tell us a bit more about your role…

I am a strategic media planner who specialises in delivering data-led media solutions. I work with a range of clients (currently my clients are mostly in the charity sector) helping them to achieve their objectives with data, insight and creativity.

My work starts with helping identify the audience and prospects for a client, including where and how to find them, right through to campaign execution and finally post campaign analysis…before using those learnings to do it all again, but optimised!

Morning

When I first get up I sometimes do a meditation, this is followed by a morning walk or trip to the gym to engage my mind & body! This is followed by a nice frothy coffee from our espresso machine or the local Mokoko coffee shop. When I get to my desk, I check my diary for meetings and then first things first: emails!

Lunch

I eat a nice nutritional lunch (or sometimes pizza and a pint on our team office days on a Thursday!), and if I’m in the office as we’re very central I’ll run some errands…

Afternoon

I collaborate in team sessions or get my head down and work on my key tasks for the day to ensure I can cross off my to-do list at the end of the day and plan out my working day for tomorrow.

My commute home is a 15 minute walk, so I either meet my partner Matt and we walk home together, or pop on my headphones and listen to some music!

Evening

Sometimes I have a personal training session or class at the gym, this is followed by a wholesome veggie dinner cooked by my partner Matt (yes, he’s the better cook I’ll admit!) and a glass of red wine occasionally accompanies our meal.

I then watch some Netflix, read a book and/or have a nice relaxing bath with candles & bath salts to wind down for the evening.
